Nashville Wedding Photographer

Megan + Donovan

Because just one wedding in the south simply wouldn't do, I decided to join Jamie Clayton again and give Nashville a little 4th of July love this time. Old church ceremony. Civil War plantation reception. Amazing group of dapper dudes and southern belles. It simply does not get any better. See Jamie's all-film view of the day here. Seriously, can't thank this guy enough for letting me second shoot two absolutely perfect weddings for him.

Joel + Marcelle

Goodness, this wedding meant so much to me. I've known Joel and his siblings for years, and got the chance to photograph his sister, Christianne's wedding earlier in 2012 so it was such a ridiculous honor to be asked to document his and Marcelle's day as well. Here's the kicker though, they wanted to take this thing on the road and bring friends and family with them to a new destination; one a bit further down the map than Michigan. So all of their favorite people piled into cars and airplanes and made the trek to beautiful Nashville, TN for a weekend to remember. There was wineries, dueling piano bars, cocktail parties and late-night adventures. One of my favorite things about destination weddings is the time that I get to spend with the friends and family leading up to the wedding day. That mutual trust and friendship that is formed by living down the hall from people for a couple days prior makes some magic happen. Everyone is relaxed, having a great time, and I'm just there without any notice, able to tell that story as an insider. When I first met with Joel and Marcelle, they explained about how they wanted a laid back, yet swanky candle-lit 1940's affair. It's safe to say they tackled that in a ridiculous renovated train station. I loved every second of the weekend and I can't thank the two of them enough for allowing me the chance to tell this story.

Cheers.

2012 :: YEAR IN REVIEW

Twenty-Twelve. Holy Crap. How do I even begin to describe it? The sheer amount of life change I got to experience in front of my lens is just jaw-dropping. In 2012 I:

Got married. Fell even deeper in love with my incredible wife Cali, I'd be nothing without her as my support system. Moved out of my parents house. Photographed people all around Michigan, Chicago, Nashville, Kentucky and more. Traveled out of the country for the first time. (Canada doesn't count) Launched MammothBooth! Got to welcome an incredible new niece and nephew into the world. Documented the weddings, engagements, families, seniors, and businesses of people that I genuinely care for, love, and am better off for knowing. Got an even deeper sense of the indescribable impact that a single photo can have on aforementioned people. Trespassed. A lot.

There was early mornings and long nights. There was times of extreme joy and times of unbearable stress. But these 194 images below are the reason why I continue to come back for more year after year. These aren't the most technically "correct" or "perfect" images I've ever taken. They won't necessarily have people knocking down my door to take photos of them. But they are my year in a nutshell. Each tells a story to me. The people, the places, the moments. Thank you so much to everyone that continually trusts me, believes in me, and allows me the honor of capturing these incredible moments. These images are my Twenty-Twelve.

Huge amounts of high-fives to Bryan, Abbey, Jakob, and Nick for locking down the second-shooter spots for me at some of these weddings as well. So much love for those talented people.

To Twenty-Thirteen. Let's make some memories together.
